Lowered Expectations

I can't live up to my parents' expectations, and have (finally) come to terms with that. The problem is in realizing I can't really live up to my own expectations for myself, and the subsequent lowering of standards. It drives me a little crazy (is there such a thing?), and makes me wish I were much stupider/less morally upright than I pretend to be.
